Wild Camp in Chegaga
DESERTARAOUANE WELCOMES YOU TO THEIR BIVOUAC IN THE MOROCCAN DESERT, AT THE FOOT OF THE CHEGAGA DUNES
The bivouac is 70 km from the village of M’Hamid. To reach the bivouac, it takes 3 days by camel or on foot and 2 hours by 4×4. The camp is organized around a central space with magnificent Berber carpets. The bivouac is made by the nomads. The tents are made of goat or camel hair and a wool blend, reinforced with a wooden frame. They are equipped to accommodate 2 to 4 people each and provide you with maximum comfort. The tents are decorated according to Moroccan tradition.
The bivouac is located at the foot of the Great Dunes of Chegaga which are therefore located in the south of Morocco, 70 km from M’Hamid. These dunes constitute the most beautiful part of the Moroccan desert. Forming a magnificent sea of sand, they extend over 40 km and rise up to 300 m above sea level. Erg Chegaga, little frequented by tourists, allows an authentic discovery of the Moroccan desert. It is only accessible by 4×4 track, or through the dunes on foot or by camel.
It is also an ideal place for trekking and hiking. In the heart of these infinite spaces, to the nonchalant rhythm of camels, you can completely immerse yourself in the beauty and magic of the desert.
